Hard-working JMPD officers promoted to sergeants and inspectors

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s Acting Chief of Police, Angie Mokasi, leadership and staff recently celebrated the promotion of five female and eight male officers. The officers were promoted from the rank of Constable to Sergeant and Inspector. The newly promoted officers will be deployed to the Metropolitan Police Academy, Internal Affairs and Operations Directorate. Acting Chief Mokasi and the JMPD leadership congratulated the group and reminded them that they have important responsibilities to ensure that officers perform their best in serving and protecting the community of the City of Johannesburg. She also encouraged them to continue to perform their duties with diligence and pride.

“Welcome on board. As of today, you have to think like managers. As much as you are liberated in terms of the rank, you need to think differently so that together we can take the department forward and become a force to be reckoned with,” said Acting Chief Mokasi.

All the newly appointed officers were in a jovial mood when they received their new ranks. They were excited and looking forward to adding extra value to their new positions.

Inspector Jenice Davids said: “I am overwhelmed and extremely grateful. I thank the Lord Almighty for answering my prayers.”

The promoted officers are: Inspector J Davids, Sergeant N Ntsizi, Inspector M Masimini, Inspector T Mahlayivana, Inspector T Mabaso, Sergeant D Mathebula, Sergeant S Mojapelo, Sergeant M Mantsha, Sergeant J Maphisa, Sergeant H Chauke, Sergeant S Molekwa, Sergeant C Mkhabela and Sergeant C Nkuna.
